Mercedes W115 -75 Proud owner again

It did not go so well with the black car I had, so my boyfriend bought it and then I bought a W115 compakt which I have long been missing for. Now I am the proud owner again of this fine automobile

Otherwise, it is pretty nice, the previous owner was serious about the car so he changed the rear screen edges.

Bought the seat covers, the chairs were a bit damaged, but I'll sew a new outfit for them in the near future

I can not get into first position in the ignition switch so it can be pushed down that barrier

I thought it looked impossible out turning the ignition switch when the previous owner lost the key and then he drilled down the ignition.
But when I try to put a tool on the back of the lock to grab the little thing that sticks out when I loosen the connector.
Then I managed to turn the switch and then went to take out switch and now I do not have the steering lock

Oh, there must be less gasoline than diesel in the W115?

Yeah right now is the screwdriver that I have to start with but will buy a new ignition switch as soon as I can reached at good price

Diesel engines can do pretty good, I remember the W115 when I had the winter of 2010,
it got down to 30- degrees below zero, but let it glow 2 times to start it without any problems.
Diesel mercedes is the best thing to have in the winter here because they are so reliable and they never hesitate to start

Gasoline must wait a few seconds for them is tougher to get up the heat in the engine and the oil is thick and tough

I want to do it fine as original condition with little change details. It will not have lot of styling and stuff, this car will be clean and "bossy"

Will probably have this running mostly with. It is cheap, tax free and it does not draw much fuel per mile.
My gray W124 will be a nice ride in the summer and at car shows

what is this vacuum hose for and why it goes into the larger hose?

Answers to the "straight eight":

Well it must surely then go to central lock system?
It goes out 2 yellow hoses from coupe which then merges into one hose that goes to that big hose.
I'm bad at explaining

Okay I'll check it out and see where the hoses go inside the compartment.
I can still turn the engine off (I do not close it with the key, I turn it off by pressing the button that goes to the glowing)

They would have left it for it seemed be better than the vacuum?

Yes, I want a clean look of the car, no moldings, fine rims (17 inch), tinted glass, polished chrome, polished and painted engine and related stuff, interior should be completely original ... Maybe it'll set a nice matching steering wheel in a smaller size, but only time will tell.

I was bored for a while when the filler would dry so I tried to fix the old screen, it was not so good so I spray on it instead for want of something to do

Almost done with the beam front, so I sprayed body color before I made it clear whole is that I'm pretty careful about that they will start to rust again, standing in a cold garage ... if it stood in a heated garage so I had not been so careful.

Unfortunately blown gasket on it too, can say that the va my fault, I pump a little bit too fast on the clutch so it must have been reached over pressure in the cylinder ... H*ll now I have to find another
